Steak Pizzaiola, My Way

What a dinner! I would like to thank the butcher at Whole Foods in Milford for giving me the idea for dinner tonight. Last night I met up with some grammar school friends, more on that later, so I had some time to kill between the meet-up and work. I stopped by Whole Foods to pick up something for tonight's dinner. I wanted to make something special since I had not been home the past two nights for dinner, more on that later.

I asked the butcher for a cut of meat for Steak Pizzaiola. He suggested boneless beef chuck roast and went on to give me his grandmother's recipe. Score!!!! Salt the meat generously. Sear the meat. The butcher gave me some of the fat from the meat he cut to use instead of oil to sear the meat. Then add the meat to tomato sauce and finish cooking the meat. I decided to make Marcella Hazen's Tomato Sauce with Onion and Butter. Wow, wow, wow!

I had homemade pasta in the freezer and I sauteed some zucchini for the side dishes. A perfect dinner.

Last night I went to meet up with some grammar school friends at Zuppardi's Pizza. I had not seen some of these people since June 1972! It was a nice evening with old friends. It was as if we had not been apart for that long.

Thursday night I went to Toad's Place for a book signing by Marky Ramone
For me it was like meeting a Beatle.
Next week I will be in for dinner all week. See you then!
